EfficienTranslations was created in 2016 and is owned and operated exclusively by myself, Eloisa Simon dos Santos Thomas.
Based in the market town of Civray, in the Vienne and part of the new Nouvelle-Aquitaine region (Poitou-Charentes), EfficienTranslations offers practical help and solutions in the everyday challenges that you, as an English/Spanish/Portuguese speaker, face when moving to, or living in this part of France: translations, interpretation, administrative assistance to English/Spanish/Portuguese speakers in France. EfficienTranslations is a personalized, flexible and confidential service.
My origins & education
I am an undergraduate in Social Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – POA – Brazil (UFRGS) and I have a diploma in basic-intermediate German (Deutsch als Fremdsprache – Goethe Institut) which allowed me to obtain a year’s scholarship in Germany in my teens. Subsequently, whilst living in the United Kingdom, I acquired the Cambridge Diploma Certificate of Proficiency in English as a Foreign Language and more recently in France, a BTS Diploma (Brevet de Technician Supérieur) in Bilingual Management Assistance. I have over 15 years of professional experience in International Client Relations and translation/interpretation, Sales & Customer Services and Administrative Assistance in both the UK and in France.
I was born in Brazil and lived in my home country until I was 22 years old. I moved to France in 2007. This means that I have first-hand experience of all the challenges involved in buying a home abroad and in dealing with everything which follows, both as a second-home owner and as a full-time resident. As a non-European resident abroad for over 25 years, first in the UK and now in France, I am experienced in the matters of setting up a new life, with all that entails it: a home and a professional life.
The idea: help people to make the most of their new life in France
I set up EfficienTranslations because I became increasingly aware that many people who choose to make a new life abroad, can often be frustrated by not being fluent in the language, thus not being able to fully comprehend the ins and outs of how the various administrative systems work and can easily get confused and lost; they can make poor choices and create unwittingly more problems for themselves. I wanted to use my various skills and my professional experience acquired to help them make the most of their new life and equally to resolve some of the difficulties they inadvertently find themselves in.

My own personal and professional experiences have allowed me to obtain an enormous variety of knowledge and a considerable network of contacts covering all aspects of the business and public service environment; which means that I can quickly resolve most queries.
However, I am fully aware that every client is different, and so are their needs. No job is too big or too small and I guarantee to deal promptly and professionally with all work entrusted to me.
